Paul's farewell speech at the end of his final missionary journey reveals his legacy of the gospel work and his love for the people of God. As he instructs the Ephesian elders one final time, he imbues his passion for God's mission and the church in the next generation of leaders of the Ephesian church. As a church, we ought to be constantly thinking about how we are doing this succession planning for the next generation of believers. By the power of the Holy Spirit, are we modelling for the next generation what it looks like to follow Jesus faithfully? Just as Paul reminds the Ephesians how he lived out the gospel among them for three years, we ought to demonstrate the gospel for one another as we share our lives in our community.
