At the beginning of Acts 21, we see the Apostle Paul make a grand journey back to Jerusalem. Along the way, Paul makes a few stops and fellow disciples and friends raise the alarm, warning Paul not to go to Jerusalem. Against the backdrop of those warnings, Paul boldly, and obediently, commits to going to Jerusalem.
In the face of uncertainty and potential suffering, affliction, and imprisonment, why is Paul so committed? He understands the path God has for him to be a light to a world that needs it! To be a beacon of the Gospel. To see both Jews and Gentiles come into a saving relationship with Christ.
Acts 21:17-26 highlights what it means to commit to the role of being ambassadors for Christ in a dark, hostile, and dangerous world. We see the Apostle Paul, as an ambassador for Christ, become all things to all people so that many would believe. So that many would embrace Jesus Christ as Saviour!
