Passage: Acts 19:23-41

Luke and Paul both present God as the one true God. There is no other God. If you're not familiar with the teachings of Christianity, you might think this is all very arrogant; all other Gods are false; our God is the only true God. All creation exists for him and we must be loyal to this God alone. But Christianity values humility because our Lord is a humble king. Although all creation exists for him and although he is a jealous God—the one true God—he shows us unimaginable mercy and grace. He is patient with us and desires to commune with us so much that he would pay the great cost to be with us. Idols demand you to pay the price and it might help you if you behave. The one true God proclaims that he has paid the highest price to redeem us from our sinfulness and our brokenness, and he says it's impossible to be righteous and just without his help, so he wants to help us live a life of righteousness, justice, and perfect love.
