South Delta Baptist Church is a missional Christian church in Delta, BC—a suburb of Vancouver. We are committed to worshipping our God, participating in God’s mission to preach the gospel, and sharing the love of Jesus with our community by embodying the gospel through radical (biblical) hospitality. In obedience to the bible, we are committed to following Jesus and serving our city, nation, and world by living in authentic community as missionaries of Jesus Christ wherever we are. We invite you to join us on God’s amazing mission.

WE HONOUR JESUS WHO GIVES HOPE TO ALL.

Our Vision:

  • Love Like Jesus: Speaking Truth

  • Love Like Jesus: Engaging Culture

  • Love Like Jesus: Building Community

  • Love Like Jesus: Equipping to Serve

  • Love Like Jesus: Moving from Self-Interest to Self-Sacrifice

Key Values:

  1. Reliance on God // Deuteronomy 6:5
We value our reliance on the sovereign God who loves and desires relationships with us. In our walk with God, we acknowledge His sovereignty and His daily provision for us in all aspects of our lives. In response to His love and in obedience to His work, we rely on Him daily as we worship and praise Him and live for His glory. Our relationship with Him is expressed through prayer and study of His word.

  2. Grace-filled relationships // Colossians 3:12-14
We value grace-filled relationships because of what Christ has done for us. We value grace-filled relationships that are characterized by love, forgiveness, and understanding and caring. Love is evident when we intentionally affirm and encourage others as well as when we humbly and gently correct them. Grace is seen when we have an attitude of selflessness and nourish relationships to a place of dignity and respect.

  3. Relevant outreach // Matthew 28:18-20
We value reaching out to our world with the Gospel of Christ and showing its relevance in every aspect of life. In obedience to the Great Commission, we recognize our responsibility to share the Gospel of Christ with our neighbours, friends, and community and to the ends of the earth. We also reach out through relationships and relevant acts of service that reflect Christ’s love and grace.

  4. Christ-like maturity // Ephesians 4:12-13
We value growing in Christ-like maturity through an intentional process of training. The goal of our Christian walk is to become more like Christ. Each one learns and matures at their own pace but each requires discipleship and encouragement along the way. A process of step-wise training for all age groups leads to Christ-like maturity and emotional and spiritual wholeness. Training includes gaining knowledge and skills which builds character and conviction – learning the Word, loving it, and then living it.

  5. Working together // Philippians 2:2
We value working together within a shared vision that unites us in mind, heart and action. We value teamwork demonstrated through communication, collaboration and trust. We will humbly serve with one another toward a shared vision, which is more important than our own. We value each individual’s gifts and contributions, praising the skills of others, empowering one another, and recognizing we are not self-sufficient. Our unity and like-mindedness demonstrates our submission to one another as together we serve our Lord Jesus Christ.

  6. Responsible stewardship // 1 Peter 4:10
We value responsible management of resources that God has entrusted to us. We acknowledge that everything we have is a blessing from God; including his creation, our families, finances, possessions, gifts, and time. We will honour God by managing these many resources wisely.
