Passage: Ezekiel 11:1-25
As Ezekiel the Prophet is devastated by the vision of judgment that he sees in Jerusalem, God promises that a small remnant will be preserved through whom God will keep his covenant faithfulness. This remnant—an exiled people that are despised in the eyes of the corrupt Jerusalemite leaders—will become a sign of hope for God's people and for the world at large. God will take what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and he will take what is weak in the world to shame the strong. God takes those who are low and despised in the world and does his amazing work through them to show that no human being can boast in themselves. We are to boast in Christ alone who is the new temple through whom we have communion with God. A promise of one heart and a new Spirit. This is good news!
