Passage: Ezekiel 7:1-27

The trumpet blasts of warning continue from God’s watchman—Ezekiel—announcing the consequences of Israel’s persistent sin against Him. Oracle after oracle of coming judgment was delivered so that, by sheer repetition, the message might break through hardened hearts and closed ears. This repeated warning reveals a deep disconnect between where the people thought they stood with God and the reality of how far they had strayed, breaking covenant through rebellion and idolatry. Ezekiel 7 confronts us with unchanging realities:

  1. The just and inevitable judgment of God against sin.
  2. The dangers of pride, idolatry, and false security in worldly things.
  3. The call to repentance, relationship, and Gospel freedom.

Through Ezekiel’s trumpet blasts, God calls us away from pride and misplaced trust, and into a flourishing relationship with Him—marked by submission, obedience, and the freedom found only in the Gospel.
