Passage: Ezekiel 10:1-22

The emphasis of today's message is on Christ coming to set us free from the shackles of sin and death; Christ waging war with the evil of the world and setting us free; just like how God did in Exodus and promised in the Protoeuangelion (Gen. 3). Sometimes, we see judgment or accountability and we fear it, but God is purifying us and preparing us to be fit for his presence again. If we see it that way—that God's greatest work of redemption requires an undoing of our sinful ways to be restored and made new in Christ—then we can appreciate how amazingly gracious it is of God to come and wage war against our sinfulness because in God's victory over sin, we are redeemed to a life of Christ's righteousness.
