Passage: Matthew 6:9-13, Romans 8:26-28

What comes to mind when you hear the word prayer? Maybe it's someone sitting still, eyes closed and hands folded. Maybe it's a long list of people and problems you want God to fix. Or maybe it's the feeling of a distant God, arms crossed, disappointed that you haven't prayed more.

Whatever images fill our minds, Jesus invites us to reimagine prayer in light of who he is. For Jesus, prayer isn't about reciting requests to a far-off, uninterested figure. It's about sharing life with a perfect, loving Father who cares deeply about every part of us.

Whether you've struggled to find the words, the motivation, or even the point of prayer—especially when so many prayers seem to go unanswered—this message is for you.

Whatever season you're in, Jesus invites you to encounter prayer afresh: to pause, experience God's goodness, and participate in seeing that goodness reach into the world around you.
