Passage: Psalms 23:1-6, 1 Peter 4:8-9
We are called to practice radical hospitality because our God is a radically hospitable host. As ones who bear God's image, we have the special privilege and responsibility to invite people into God's house to experience his goodness and mercy. We can practice biblical hospitality by developing a posture (heart) and a lifestyle (habits/patterns) of hospitality, and by embracing messy community. When we are worried about our own mess being shared with others or the mess of others entering into our community, we will not open up our homes or our lives to be radically hospitable. However, when we allow ourselves to embrace messy community, we can grow in Christ through our Christ-like hospitality.
