As we have been working through our Radically Generous: Joyful Obligation series, we have been considering practical tools to help us put into practice some of the stewardship and giving principles we've uncovered. As one of those next steps, we are excited to be hosting an Estate Planning and Legacy Giving Workshop with Advisors with Purpose.
Advisors with Purpose helps individuals and families think through important questions around estate planning, wills, and legacy giving from a Christian stewardship perspective. Through their partnership with our National Fellowship, they provide educational workshops designed to help people plan well, care for their families, and think intentionally about how they steward what God has entrusted to them. Estate planning is one of those things that can be easy to put off, but planning well is an important part of caring for our families and stewarding the resources God has entrusted to us. And it isn't just something to think about later in life! Whether you're a young adult wanting to better understand these practical areas of life, raising a young family, preparing for retirement, or somewhere in between, there are important things here worth understanding and planning for.
During the workshop, we'll explore questions like: Why do I need a will? What happens if I don't have one? How do I prepare to make a will? What is a Power of Attorney? And how can legacy giving be incorporated into my estate planning?
The workshop will be led by Gord Baptist, who serves with our National Fellowship and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in this area. The goal is not to draft a will for you, but to help equip you to better understand the estate-planning process, organize the information you'll need, think through your intentions, and be prepared to take the appropriate next steps.
We'll gather after church on Sunday, November 8th, in the Chapel, with doors opening at 11:30AM. We'll provide a free, light lunch, and Gord will begin the workshop at 11:45AM. The presentation will run for approximately one hour, including an opportunity for Q&A.
Our hope is that this will be another practical way to continue what we've been learning through our Radically Generous: Joyful Obligation series. Stewardship touches every part of our lives, including how we plan for the future, care for those we love, and consider the legacy we leave behind.
We'd love to have you join us! To help us plan for lunch, please RSVP by clicking the link below. You can also sign up at the Spotlight Table this Sunday, where we'll be happy to answer any questions you may have about the workshop.
