Passage: Luke 18:9-14
In the parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector (Luke 18:9-14), Jesus contrasts two very different prayers that reveal two very different hearts. While one man trusted in his own righteousness, the other threw himself on God's mercy. Through this powerful parable, we discover that God desires a heart, attitude, and posture of continual dependence on him. As we draw near to God, he continually reshapes the posture of our hearts.
