It's hard to believe we're already a month into our fall launch! It has been such a joy to welcome new and returning families into SDBC Kids each week. Our rooms are full of excited kids who are eager to learn about Jesus, build friendships, and discover what it means to follow him.
With every new season comes change. Some of our wonderful volunteers have moved away, while others have headed off to university and into exciting new chapters of life. We're so grateful for the time they've invested in our kids, but these transitions have also created some gaps in our teams, particularly in our Preschool and Elementary rooms.
As we look ahead to the coming months, we're praying for new people to join our team and become part of what God is doing in the next generation.
Here's the thing about serving in Kids Ministry: it's not just about what you can give. It's also about how God grows you through it. When we serve, we have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, learn to love others like Jesus, and see familiar bible stories through the fresh eyes of a child. We get to celebrate the little victories, answer big questions, pray with kids, and remind them week after week that they are loved by God.
You don't need to be a bible expert or have everything figured out to serve. You simply need a willingness to show up, build relationships, and point kids toward Jesus. You might be surprised by how much God teaches you along the way!
We're especially looking for volunteers to join our Preschool and Elementary teams, and there are opportunities to serve in different ways depending on your gifts, interests, and availability. Whether you love helping little ones discover the world around them or enjoy walking alongside school-aged kids as they explore their faith, there's a place for you here.
And we're excited to share that we're also starting a Junior Leadership Program for preteens who are interested in getting involved! We believe that kids and teens don't have to wait until they're adults to make a difference in the church. Serving is a wonderful way to help them develop a servant heart, take ownership of their faith, and learn how God can use their gifts to bless others. Parents, if your preteen has expressed interest in serving, keep an eye out for an upcoming email with more information. If you're hoping to help your preteen or teen take their next step in serving, feel free to reach out to me directly. We'd love to explore how they can get involved!
At SDBC, we believe that faith is formed first in the home and strengthened through the community of the church. Every Sunday, our volunteers have the privilege of coming alongside families as they raise their children to know and love Jesus. That is meaningful work, and we would love for you to be part of it.
If you've been looking for a way to get more connected at SDBC, take a next step in your faith, or invest in the lives of the next generation, perhaps this is your invitation. Come be part of the team! Reach out to me by clicking the button below or stop by the Spotlight Table on Sunday to learn more about serving with SDBC Kids. We'd love to help you find a place where you can use your gifts, grow in your faith, and be part of helping kids discover just how much Jesus loves them.
