From Ruin to Renewal: The Gospel in Ezekiel

Rooted in Our Great Provider

Passage: Ezekiel 17:1-24

Ezekiel 17 exposes the inward and worldly perspective of Israel and its leaders, which has led them into continued sinful rebellion against God despite his ongoing provision and calls to covenant faithfulness. Ezekiel presents a deliberately crafted allegory or riddle designed to illustrate real historical events. Through the story of Zedekiah's broken covenant with Nebuchadnezzar, Ezekiel reveals the deeper spiritual reality of Israel’s broken covenant with the Lord and the consequences that will follow. True security and fruitfulness won't come from Babylon or Egypt, but only from God himself. For us today, this passage offers both encouragement and challenge. It calls us to keep our perspective firmly rooted in God as we navigate life. He is our great provider, and our response is one of gratitude, trust, thankfulness, and worship in every season.
