Passage: The First Letter of Paul to the Thessalonians 1 Thessalonians 2:1-8
What does it look like to be a witness for Jesus in our everyday lives? Is our faith shaping and forming the way we live so that, through our words and actions, people around us see Jesus?
In 1 Thessalonians 2:1–8, the apostle Paul reminds the Thessalonians of the genuine, Christ-centred, life-transforming experience they had with him and his fellow missionaries. Despite facing suffering, persecution, and opposition, Paul and his companions continued to proclaim the gospel with boldness in God. Their witness was marked by integrity, authenticity, and sacrificial love. They didn't simply share a message with the Thessalonians; they shared their very lives.
There's something deeply compelling about this kind of gospel community. Paul's relationship with Jesus shaped how he lived, loved, and related to others. And as followers of Jesus, we're invited to do the same. Being a witness isn't simply another activity we do as Christians. It's woven into the fabric of our lives because of who we are in Christ. As we draw closer to Jesus, the Holy Spirit continues His work of shaping and transforming us, equipping us to share the compelling goodness, grace, and love of Jesus with those around us.
