Just like that, another summer is quickly coming to a close. This year, I had the absolute joy of serving as the SDBC Kids' Summer Intern for the second time. The season was filled with fun memories, new connections, exciting camps, and so many opportunities to grow in faith! All the kids, families, and volunteers made this summer unforgettable, and I feel so blessed to be part of it.
Throughout my internship this summer, I had the opportunity to step into a more significant leadership role within the ministry. This included planning and organizing our Kids' Summer Camps, serving as the main point of contact for families and volunteers, and taking on a teaching role during Sunday mornings. These experiences stretched me in the best way—helping me grow as a leader, gain more confidence in my abilities, and trust God more deeply with each new challenge. I've seen firsthand how he equips us when we step out in faith, and I'm so grateful for the ways he's been shaping me through this season of ministry.
I also had the chance to work firsthand with our volunteers for camps and on Sunday mornings. It was incredible to witness how much each and every one of our volunteers truly loves our kids. Their passion and commitment encouraged me so much, and I often found myself learning from their example. Serving alongside them grew my confidence as a leader and reminded me that ministry isn't something we do alone—it's something we do together, leaning on one another and on God.
I am beyond grateful for all the experiences I've had these last few months—the families and kids I've connected with for the first time or the hundredth, the relationships that have continued to grow, the opportunities to develop my leadership skills, and, most importantly, the ways my faith has deepened through it all. This summer has been such a gift, and I'm excited to carry all that I've learned into the seasons ahead.
