Sharing Life Together in Christ

18Oct, 2022

It has been a few months since Grace Kim joined our team and officially launched a Korean Ministry at our church, so we want to provide an update for you. Grace and her team have created opportunities for fellowship for the Korean community on Saturday evenings and Sundays after the service. These gatherings often involve food and beverages, and the team spends time sharing God's blessings with one another. These organic opportunities for community are very important to these Korean families because they are living in a foreign country where they do not have family nearby or any community to which they belong. The church offers an authentic community that helps them experience belonging to a real family away from home.

On Sundays, the Korean community gathers to welcome new people each week and to discuss what they have learned through the sermon. The children and youth play in the gym and enjoy a healthy fellowship with one another. Many international students feel a level of stress because they attend school in a language that they're not comfortable with, which is why times of fellowship in their home language is so precious and necessary.

The Korean community at SDBC desires to share life together in Christ, and we are so thankful to be a part of the SDBC family together.
