Radically Generous: Joyful Obligation

07Oct, 2026

What a great few weeks we've had working through our Radically Generous: Joyful Obligation series! Throughout this series, we've been challenged to think more deeply about our spiritual formation, generosity, stewardship, and what it means to faithfully use the resources God has entrusted to us.

As we wrapped up the series this past Sunday, we highlighted a number of practical ways we can respond to what we've been learning. One of those next steps is taking some time to prayerfully examine and consider our own giving, including our giving here at SDBC.

One of the things we reflected on during Sunday is that giving is ultimately about our spiritual formation. Our giving is an act of worship and an avenue through which God shapes and forms our hearts. Our encouragement is to not simply move on from this series with some great information, but to consider how God might be inviting us to respond. Perhaps that's taking a first step toward regular giving, reviewing your budget and priorities, or considering how you might grow in generosity.

We also reflected on the incredible privilege we have of participating together in the work God is doing through our church! Through our giving, we join God as co-labourers in advancing his kingdom and proclaiming the gospel in our world. From our local ministries and outreach to missions and the many ways we serve our community, our collective giving helps make this work possible. As a church family, we want to faithfully steward what God has entrusted to us for his kingdom purposes and gospel proclamation.

If you're considering beginning to give, or looking to make giving a more intentional part of your life, there are a number of ways to give at SDBC, including text-to-give, e-transfer, debit, online giving, pre-authorized giving, and PayPal. You can find more information by clicking the button below.

Our hope is that this series continues to bear fruit in our lives, both individually and together as a church family, as we grow into radically generous people who reflect the heart of Jesus!
