God has been at work in some really encouraging ways this summer! Over the past few months, we’ve seen him working in the lives of young people both within our youth ministry and throughout the wider community.
This summer marked the return of our Friday Fanfares, welcoming Qwanoes campers home each week. Thank you to everyone who baked cookies or came out on a Friday to help! We couldn’t do something like this without the faithful involvement of our church family.
We heard from several campers and parents that Friday Fanfares became something they looked forward to each week. One camper even told me it was the best “mug-up” of the week. Friday Fanfares have been a wonderful opportunity for our church family to show young people and families in our community some of the radical hospitality we talk about so often.
Throughout the summer, we also ran Gap Unplugged each week and saw a great group of students in Grades 5–12 come out, connect, and engage with one another. It has been especially encouraging to watch relationships continue to grow within the group. Our weekly messages focused on the reminder that God is present and at work in our everyday lives, not just during the school year, but all 365 days of the year.
Our regular Gap and Gap Jr. programs launch again on Thursday, September 17th. As we head into a new school year, please pray for me, Jacob, our youth leaders, and all the young people who will be part of our youth ministry this year!
