Tomorrow, our Mexico Missions Team embarks on its trip to Vicente Guerrero, and we are so excited to begin this journey. We are so grateful for the ways our church family has supported this trip by giving generously, encouraging us as a team, and praying.
As our team travels over the next 10 days (March 13th-22nd), we invite you to continue to pray:
- for the safety and well-being of our team as they travel and cross security checkpoints;
- for our full team of 47 people (15 from SDBC) to grow in unity, humility, and Christlike love;
- for opportunities to reflect the love of Jesus to everyone we meet
- for God to use us to encourage and support the team at Oasis, the organization we'll be serving alongside in Vicente Guerrero, in their vital ministry;
- for God to provide for all of our needs and to teach us to rely fully on him throughout the trip; and
- for each person on the team to encounter Jesus personally and experience transformation through him.
This matters deeply to me personally. I went on my first missions trip when I was 14 years old, and God used that experience to move me from feeling cynical and purposeless to sensing a call toward full-time ministry and participation in God's mission in everyday life. This kind of transformation is what happens when God's people faithfully pray for his work of renewal in someone's life.
So if you haven't already, I encourage you to choose one person on this trip and pray for them by name each day of this trip. You may be surprised by the incredible work God does—both in them and through your prayers. Prayer cards for each person will be available at the Giving Station table this Sunday, so please come and take one!
