After wrapping up our sermon series in Ezekiel, we are gearing up for a new series that will take us to the end of summer—The Parables of Jesus. At the end of the Ezekiel series, we saw a vision that God gave Ezekiel to show us a glimpse of the coming Kingdom of God. The Greek word, apokalypsis, refers to an unveiling or revealing of something. In the context of the end of Ezekiel, the vision was an unveiling or revealing of the coming kingdom that would be inaugurated by the coming of Jesus the Messiah.
In our new series, we will examine some of the parables that Jesus taught in the gospel accounts. These parables unveil what God’s kingdom is like, and how we can experience the kingdom today even before it comes in its fullness in the future. Our prayer is that this series will encourage us with the hope of heaven and inspire us to live as citizens of God’s kingdom even today, even as we live in this sin-marred world.
As always, we ask that you pray for our preaching team as they prepare for this series. We will begin this series on May 3rd.
