Ukraine Refugee Crisis

Emergency Appeal from FAIR

According to the UNHCR (UN High Commissioner of Refugees), as of March 8, 2022, 1.4 million refugees have come to Poland from Ukraine. Our Fellowship International missionaries, Pierre & Hanna Jutras and Ben & Krista Taylor, along with their church partners have been able to setup two emergency shelters at churches in the towns of Hrubieszów and Zamosc in Poland near the border with Ukraine.

Each church is providing fresh food, a warm place to rest and travel assistance to 30+ refugees (mainly women and children) each day. Travel assistance includes pickup from the border, a drop-off in Warsaw and bus/train tickets to Berlin. The church in Hrubieszów is also running a canteen at the train station providing food for 500+ refugees a day.

The team has been able to purchase a van and borrow two others with two more on the way to help drive refugees to where they need to go.

As of March 9, 2022, $169,682 has been received for this crisis response. We have been overwhelmed with the generosity of so many people who have given, prayed, and have offered to help in other ways too. The need is enormous as the conflict continues.
