There's Room for You in SDBC Kids

16Sep, 2026

We're officially in full swing with our fall launch, and it has been so encouraging to see what God is doing in SDBC Kids!

Each week, we're welcoming new families through our doors. Some are coming to check out SDBC for the first time, while others are finding a church family and beginning to make SDBC their home. We love getting to meet these families, welcome their kids, and create a place where they can grow in their faith and build meaningful connections.

At the same time, this season has brought some exciting transitions for many of our volunteers. Some have moved away, while others have headed off to university and begun new chapters of life. We're incredibly grateful for the years and energy they have poured into SDBC Kids, and we're excited to see where God leads them next.

But all of those exciting transitions also mean that we have a growing need for new people to join our Kids Ministry team. And the good news? There's a place for you! Maybe you love meeting new people and would enjoy welcoming families at the Bus, our Kids check-in desk. Maybe you'd love to help kids discover who Jesus is as a leader in one of our teaching rooms. Or perhaps you're not quite ready to lead but would be an amazing room helper, coming alongside a leader and helping create a fun, welcoming environment for kids. We also have opportunities to serve with our littlest ones as caregivers in our Nursery and Toddler rooms. These spaces are such an important first experience of church for many of our families, and having caring, consistent adults who can love and care for little ones makes a huge difference.

Whether you have lots of experience working with kids or you're simply someone who loves Jesus and wants to invest in the next generation, there is a place for you on our team.

Serving in Kids Ministry isn't just about keeping kids busy while their parents are in church. It's about discipleship. It's about helping kids know that they are seen, valued, loved, and welcomed into the family of God. It's about being one of the people who gets to cheer them on as they learn about Jesus and grow in their faith.

And you don't have to serve every week to make a difference. We have opportunities for people who can serve regularly, as well as those who can commit to serving just once a month.

So, could this be your year to jump in?

If you've been looking for a place to serve, we'd love to have a conversation with you about where you might fit. There's room for you on the SDBC Kids team, and we'd love to serve alongside you!
