SDBC Kids Summer Events 2024

19Mar, 2024

Hey families! We know our ministry has been steadily growing over this past year, so we're excited to unveil our summer plans with SDBC Kids. This summer, we are running our bible, baking, and science day camps. These one-day camps are a fun-filled day for your kids to come to the church and do some fun activities while learning different bible stories and principles. We've had awesome feedback these past couple of years and hope these camps are the best ones yet!

Our summer events have two goals: 1) that the kids of our church have fun learning about the bible in a memorable way and 2) that families can create meaningful connections through fellowship. That's why we do what we do throughout the summer!

We are excited to offer six awesome events for your kids and the entire family to enjoy. We're also looking for volunteers to help us run many of our events, so if you're interested, please talk to a member of our Kids team!

June 23rd // 10AM-2PM, all ages: Family Carnival. Our summer will kick-off with a family-friendly service, followed by our annual family carnival! This year we're bringing in a food truck for lunch, and there will be plenty of games and activities for your family to enjoy. Everyone is welcome, so invite your friends and neighbours!

July 11 // 5-7PM, all ages: Family Picnic at Centennial Beach! In the past, we've done beach days in the morning or afternoon, but this year we're trying something a little different with the family picnic. Bring your blanket, dinner, and an appetite for fun as we connect and hang out at Centennial Beach in the evening.

July 23 // 9AM-3PM, kids entering grades 1-4: Set sail with SDBC Kids as we embark on a journey to learn how to follow Jesus. This one-day "Ocean Cruise" bible camp will be an opportunity for kids to learn about Jesus through fun stories, games, and activities, and maybe even some limbo! Registration date TBA. Volunteers needed!

August 8 // 10AM-2PM, kids entering grades 1-4: Bring your apron and join us at Baking Camp. We've got some new recipes we're excited to bake with your kids while we learn how sweet it can be to follow Jesus! Registration date TBA. Volunteers needed!August 21 // 10AM-1PM, kids entering kindergarten - grade 4: Get ready to explore God's great world through Science Camp! God has created so many exciting things for us to explore in his creation, and that's exactly what we intend to do through different experiments. Join us as we explore our hypothesis that God created the world to be explored! Registration date TBA. Volunteers needed!

August 29 // 5-7PM, all ages: Our summer wrap-up event will be the Family Picnic at Memorial Park in Ladner where we always have a lot of fun. Bring your blankets, dinner, and competitive spirit as we have some fun, family challenges while spending time connecting with the families of our church.

If you have any questions about any of these events, or would like to serve on our team, please email Kaitlyn Parker, our Director of SDBC Kids.
