Radical Hospitality and Meaningful Connections

15Mar, 2024

Hospitality is very important to us as a church family. If you have been attending SDBC for the past few years, you will have noticed our emphasis on radical hospitality and meaningful connections. Our ministries plan for and pray that we would embody these values. Hospitality happens in every ministry, every time we meet together, not just on Sunday mornings. However, our Sunday morning hospitality team (which includes greeters, ushers, kitchen teams, and welcome teams) has a vested interest in being intentionally hospitable, every Sunday morning.

Each week we prepare to welcome our church family – both new attendees and regular attendees – and it is an immense privilege to do so. We met as a team a few weeks ago to discuss our vision and goals for hospitality. Some of the things we agreed upon were that we hope our hospitality ministry is one that considers everyone who walks through our doors a neighbour and friend, and that we would greet people with more than they expect. How can we help make our whole church family feel welcome and know that SDBC is a place they can belong to? We are excited to continue growing and developing this ministry on Sunday mornings so that that we can do just this.

If you are interested in joining our Sunday morning hospitality team, we would love to chat with you. There are many pieces and positions that are part of a Sunday morning service, and we would love to grow this team! We have spots available for greeters, both inside the foyer and outside at the welcome tent, welcome table hosts, ushers, and those who help with food and beverage prep and serving. If you are interested in joining this team, please email me. We can't wait to hear from you!
