On Sunday (July 23rd), my family will be driving up to Sunnybrae Bible Camp (located in Tappen, BC) to participate in their family camp for the week. Sunnybrae Bible Camp is a camp that is owned and operated by our network of churches called the Fellowship Pacific. This family camp week will welcome 250+ campers and about 75 staff. I was invited to be the speaker for this camp, which means I will be speaking eleven times next week. As you might imagine, this is a lot of speaking and much preparation has gone into it already, but I am asking for your prayers for the following:
- Please pray that God would be honoured at this camp
- Please pray that families will hear and obey the truth of our Lord
- Please pray that families will have fun and enjoy a blessed time of rest and rejuvenation
- Please pray that God would speak through me and that people's hearts would be prepared to soak up God's word
- Please pray that lives would be transformed by God's word being proclaimed and that God would use this week to deepen the faith of many of his people
- Please pray that Sunnybrae's staff would be Holy Spirit led and sustained by our God through this week and for the entire summer
- Please also pray that my family would have safe travels and enjoy a wonderful time together at camp as well
I decided to take time out of my schedule to commit to this opportunity because a) this is a tangible way in which our church contributes to the overall ministry of the Fellowship Pacific, b) I am excited for the opportunity to share God's word with over 250 people throughout this week, and c) I am convinced that families need the gospel proclaimed to them constantly and this is our opportunity to invest in the next generation.
I am so thankful for the opportunity to proclaim God's word. I am going on behalf of our church family to bless another group of Christ followers. Please pray that I represent our church well as I engage in this great ministry opportunity.
