God's Faithfulness, Seed by Seed

26Feb, 2026

Some of my fondest childhood memories were formed at church camps with leaders who invested in my young life. I didn't grow up attending church or believing in Jesus, but each summer my mom would send us to VBS so we could have fun and stay busy for a week. What I didn't realize at the time was that God was faithfully at work.

Year after year, he planted seeds in my heart through leaders who generously gave their time, energy, and love to kids like me. Through simple moments such as making crafts, laughing at skits, and playing games, God was gently revealing glimpses of his Kingdom.

Six years after my last summer camp at SDBC, I began my very first summer internship here. It was during that season that God clearly called me into full-time ministry. This year marks 10 years of serving at SDBC and it all began with God using faithful people to plant a seed in my life.

As we look ahead to summer 2026, we are thrilled to bring back a full week of camp designed to help kids grow closer to Jesus through meaningful teaching and unforgettable experiences.

On the Move will run August 17th-21st for kids entering Grades 3-5.

Here's what the week will look like:

  • Monday: OWL visit and a trip to a blueberry farm
  • Tuesday: In-house Baking Camp & Science Camp
  • Wednesday: Fort Langley National Historic Site & Extreme Air Park
  • Thursday: In-house Art Camp & Sports Camp
  • Friday: Steveston Cannery & bowling at Splitsville Riverport

On the Move can only happen with the support of our church family. We are still looking for a handful of volunteers who are willing to invest in the next generation and help lead kids closer to Christ. Will you partner with us this summer to plant seeds for Kingdom impact?
