Faith in Action: Pouring into the Next Generation

22Apr, 2026

There's something special happening in our Kids Ministry right now, and if you've walked past the classrooms lately, you've probably felt it. The laughter, the energy, the excitement…it's contagious. Week after week, we're welcoming over seventy kids, with new families joining us almost every Sunday. And this past Easter, we saw nearly 100 kids walk through our doors. What an incredible glimpse of what God is doing!

But alongside that excitement, there's also a real need. On Good Friday, we had to close one of our classrooms, not because kids weren't there, but because we didn't have enough volunteers to safely open the space. It's a tension we're feeling more and more as God continues to bring families into our community.

Kids Ministry isn't just childcare, it's discipleship. It's a place where kids come eager to learn about God, to ask big questions, and to be known by leaders who genuinely care about them. They remember your name. They look for your face. They know when they are loved.

And here's something many people don't expect: serving kids shapes your faith, too. When I was new in my faith, I learned just as much while serving as I did sitting in the service. There's something powerful about telling bible stories out loud, hearing them through the curiosity of kids, and watching those truths come alive in simple, meaningful ways. It has a way of deepening what you believe and helping it take root in your everyday life.

As we grow in our faith, it's important to sit, learn, and be poured into, but it's just as important to pour out; to take what God is teaching us and share it with others. Sometimes that looks like sacrificing one Sunday a month in the service to invest in the next generation. It's a small "yes" that makes a lasting impact.

Right now, we have an opportunity in front of us, to meet this moment of growth with faith and action. To make sure every child who walks through our doors has a safe space to learn about Jesus and leaders who reflect his love.

If you've been wondering where you can serve, or if you've been waiting for a place to step in, this might be it. Something meaningful is happening, and there's room for you to be part of it. The next generation is watching. They're learning what faith looks like, and sometimes, the clearest picture they get is you!
