Annual Gingerbread Decorating Contest

20Nov, 2025

Your favourite day of holiday cheer and friendly competition is back! Join us for our 5th Annual Gingerbread Decorating contest! This year, we're going bigger than ever before with more categories, more prizes, and more fun! This annual event is open for all ages and abilities and dedicated not just to creative competition but to the joy of fellowship as we come together to celebrate the season. Even if you don't participate, plan on sticking around after the service to cheer on teams, grab some food, and connect.

Decorating will start immediately following the service, with judging starting at 12:30PM.

Categories:

  1. Best House Overall: Showcase your skills for the ultimate gingerbread masterpiece.
  2. Most Unique: Think outside the box and show off your creativity!
  3. Most Traditional: Classic, charming, and all things cozy.
  4. Best Kids House: Open to our youngest creators (under 12 years old).

This year, we are also including some smaller runner-up categories! Categories include, but are not limited to: runner-ups for best house, festive mess, and best biblical scene.

*Everyone, including kids, is automatically entered into all the categories, but the Best Kids House is exclusively open to houses made by kids under 12*

Rules:
  • All exterior decorations and construction materials must be edible, though a non-edible base is allowed.
  • You can bring in any extra house kits, cookies, icing, decorations, etc. So long as it is edible and not assembled or decorated prior to the end of the service.
  • Each house must be assembled and decorated on Sunday morning after the service.
  • If your group has more than eight people, consider reserving two gingerbread houses to give everyone a chance to join in.
