About the Event
This year, GAP Youth is participating in YUnite Outside.
At youth, we’ve been learning about how Jesus got close to the poor, lowly, and marginalized and said they were at the center of his kingdom. But we don’t just want to talk about that. We want the message of Jesus to shape how we live. This event will give us a chance to get close to the marginalized in our world by participating in a special event called YUnite Outside. This is a night where grade 8-12 students will get to learn about people their age experiencing houselessness and get a taste of what that experience is like by sleeping outside.
The event hosts call this “the best, worst sleep of the year.” Hundreds of students from youth groups across the Lower Mainland participate in this event each year, and it is absolutely safe and completely transformative for students in how they see homelessness and youth affected by it.
