JOURNEY TO CHRISTMAS

Christmas at SDBC

Advent

Starting November 30th

This year, the four weeks of Advent will begin on November 30th, and our church will be invited to journey toward Christmas together as we examine the Journey of Mary (Luke 1:39-56), the Journey of the Shepherds (Luke 2:8-20), the Journey of the Wise Men (Matthew 2:1-12), and the Journey of Christ (Isaiah 9:6-7, Philippians 2:1-11). As we journey through these well-known biblical texts, we invite you to consider your own journey to Christmas—what joys, sorrows, fears, anxieties, longing, and hope are you bringing with you as you journey toward Christmas this year? Wherever we are in life and whatever we're bringing to Christmas, our Lord Jesus is there at the end of this journey for he is our ultimate destination. We pray that you will encounter him and experience him this Christmas.

The Christmas Table

December 25th // 11:30AM

You are invited to the Christmas Table on December 25th at 11:30AM. If, for whatever reason, you don't have plans on Christmas Day, we would love for you to join us for lunch in the chapel of our church.

We started this event last year because we wanted to live out our goal of Radical Hospitality & Meaningful Connections by inviting people who may be alone for Christmas for various reasons to a family lunch on Christmas Day. We served around eighty people with a full turkey and festive meal, Christmas crackers, hot apple cider, fun games, handwritten cards, gifts, and the whole nine yards—just like a fun family time on Christmas Day! We always say that our church is not just like a family but actually a family adopted into to the household of God, so we want to celebrate as a family.

So, instead of staying at home by yourself, come and celebrate with the church family! If you're planning to join us, please RSVP by clicking the button below so that we could cook the right amount of food. Also, if you're wanting to help us with setup, cooking, or clean-up, we'd love your help. Please email us if you'd like to volunteer for this event.
