This past Sunday, we explored how God continued to work miraculously among his people as they opened their eyes and ears to his word. After God displayed his power through the rebuilding of the wall and all the protection and provisions provided during those days, the people of Israel were hungry for God's presence. At the request of the people, and at a crucial time in the Jewish calendar, Ezra enters the scene and reads from God's law before all the people. The result is nothing short of revival. The text here in Nehemiah 8 reveals the raw power of God's word as he awakens the hearts of his people.
