Starfish Update: The Lord Provides

18Nov, 2020

As you know, we have been raising funds for Starfish Pack South Delta so that we can continue to grow and add students to the program. With your support, and the support of our community as a whole, we had secured a large portion of the funds that we needed in order to approach more schools in the area. However, we were still in need of more funds so that we could reach our goal.

A few weeks ago, we were able to apply for a community grant through the Emergency Community Support Grant. Their website explains the grant: "Launched on May 19, 2020, the Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF) is a $350M investment from the Government of Canada to support charities and non-profit organizations serving vulnerable populations as they manage the impacts of COVID-19.

This past week we found out that we received a $15,000 grant from this fund! We are overjoyed and almost in disbelief of this news.

The Starfish team is so thankful as this means we can continue to grow and add students and schools to our program. God is good, he is faithful, and he provided so much for Starfish South Delta. We are excited to continue to grow and serve our community in this way.
