The LORD'S Anointed
1 Samuel 18:6-30
This week, in our David and the King series, we find David continuing to serve Saul faithfully even though Saul wants to pin him to the wall with a spear. David had every reason to retaliate against Saul, but he chooses to respect him because he sees Saul as the LORD's anointed whom God has placed on the throne of Israel. However, the irony is that Saul abuses and threatens David when David is also the LORD's anointed. David is the man God is raising up for the throne of Israel, and Saul understands that and yet chooses to mistreat him. How does our fear of and love for the LORD impact our relationship with others?
