Paul Johnson - Lead Pastor
Paul joined the team of South Delta Baptist Church in November 1, 2007 after serving as Teaching Pastor at Christ Community Church in Tucson, Arizona. His many years of ministry experience include stints as a Children and Young Adult Pastor as well as oversight of various ministries in a multi-staff setting. Paul is a trained Stephen Ministry Leader and earned his Masters of Divinity Degree at Phoenix Seminary. He has authored two books; "Trading Up" and "Prospering God's Way," both of which are published by Trusted Books and are available on this website, at the church office, in your local bookstore, or by ordering on Amazon.com. Before God called Paul to full-time ministry he spent 20 years as an award winning television and radio broadcaster. He is married to Wendi. The couple has six children; Adina, Jeremy, Taylor, Makenzie, and Reagan and Joshua.
Rick Burdett - Senior Associate Pastor of Church Growth and Administration
Rick came to SDBC in November 2010 from Gilbert, Arizona. He is serving as Senior Associate Pastor overseeing our administration, facilities, and discipleship and assimilation ministries. He has a MA in Counselling from Phoenix Seminary. Rick has been married to his wife, Chris, for 39 years. Their four children, Tim, Andrea, Lynn and Kendra are all adults and have provided Rick and Chris with seven grandchildren. He loves to teach, lead and participate in small groups and is trained and certified in Mediation practice and in CISM. He loves to meet people and learn their stories. He will go fishing with little or no notice.
Mark Clark - Asscociate Pastor/ Campus Pastor for Village Church
Mark and his wife Erin moved to BC and started serving at South Delta Baptist Church in the fall of 2004. He has a Bachelors Degree in Religious Education from Tyndale University College in Toronto and recently completed his Masters thesis in New Testament Studies at Regent College in Vancouver, which focused on Pauline theology. He is the campus pastor for Village Church which launched in January of 2009, as well as being on rotation at South Delta. Mark and Erin have three daughters - Sienna, Hayden, and Isabella.
Jeremy Johnson - Associate Pastor of Worship Arts, Young Adults, and Communication
Jeremy has been able to grow his love of music at SDBC since he was very young. He is talented and a great asset to this ministry. He leads Sunday morning and evening worship giving the congregation the opportunity to connect with God on a deeper level through his lyrics and music style. Jeremy has been recognized by the Gospel Music Association with a nomination for "Best Worship Song" for his song "Together," and nominated for his album "Form the Words" for "Best Modern Worship Album." Jeremy lives in South Surrey with his wife Jennifer and their dog Monkey.
Doug Harris - Traditional Service Worship Leader
Doug has been involved with SDBC for over thirty years. He is currently serving for a year on a quarter-time basis as Traditional Service Worship Leader. As time permits, he will also assist with the Seniors Ministry. Over the past 57 years he has served as Pastor, Missions Director, College President and in extensive para-church ministries. He and Mary have been married for 60 years and are grateful for six children (and spouses), thirteen grandchildren (and spouses) and six great-grandchildren. They have served together over the years in an extensive music ministry. Their testimony is summarized in Ephesians 3:20, 21:
“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen”
Jordan Scott - Director of Youth Ministry
Jordan has attended South Delta since he was in junior high. After interning with the Junior High program, he felt called to be in Ministry. He has spent the last 7 years working as a Youth Intern and overseeing the Pre-teen ministry before moving into a full-time Director of Youth Ministry position. Jordan is also pursuing his degree in Sociology.

Philip has been attending SDBC regularly with his family since he was 18 months old. He has been involved in many areas of the church such as Awana, VBS, Children’s ministry, and Youth ministry. These involvements helped to develop the love for ministry that God has instilled in him and he is delighted to now be working part-time to help run the youth program here at SDBC. He is also a full-time student working towards a degree in Engineering.

Paul joined South Delta Baptist Church as a pastor-intern in October 2013. Before coming to South Delta, he was a secondary school English teacher and helped proclaim the gospel in the Tsawwassen First Nations community. Growing up in a diverse cultural setting helped him learn how to communicate with people from other cultures. Paul hopes to apply his learnings in reaching many people with the love of Christ. Currently, he is pursuing an M.Div degree at Northwest Baptist Seminary.
Alyssa Gibson - Director of Children’s Ministries
Alyssa has served and interned at SDBC and in Children's ministry for many years. having a servants heart and a love for children, she has come on board as interm director. Alyssa lives in Ladner with her husband Colin, and two children Violet and Charlie. Both have attended SDBC since their youth.
Nicole Sinclair - Children’s Ministries Assistant
Nicole started attending SDBC when she moved to the mainland with her family in 2000. She has enjoyed volunteering with preteen and children's ministries in the past, and now assists Alyssa with Sunday school curriculum. She loves working with kids and is inspired by their curiosity and joy. Nicole was also the office intern at SDBC this past Summer. She is currently in her third year of a Journalism degree at Kwantlen Polytechnic University.
Nancy Scyebel - Financial Assistant
Nancy has been on staff as the Financial Assistant since 2002. She is very passionate about her job and sharing her faith. Seated high up in the tower of the church offices, she works with the greatest view. Nancy, along with her husband Bob and two daughters, Holly and Heather, live in Tsawwassen.
Nancy Martin - Assistant to Pastor Paul Johnson
Nancy joined the support team at SDBC in December, 2011. Having worked for over 15 years as a church secretary and various administrative roles in other non-profit ministries, Nancy brings a wealth of ministry experience to SDBC. Married for over 40 years, she and her husband Brian have two grown daughters, Lisa and Suzy, who live in the Lower Mainland.
Sue Gibson - Facility Coordinator/ Assistant to Pastor Rick
Sue joined the team at SDBC in August of 2001 and is now serving as Pastor Rick’s assistant. Sue and her husband Rob both started attending the church in their childhood years. The couple have 3 adult children, 2 of which are married, and 3 grandchildren. Sue has attended and served South Delta since she was 11 years old.
Lynda Nemeth - Assistant to Worship Arts
For almost 18 years Lynda has been privileged to serve in the South Delta Baptist Church Office and be part of this church family for 30 years. The experience of being surrounded with people in a caring environment has proven to be of significant value to her. She's been blessed with two sons, Sean and Darren and one daughter, Sharon and husband, Simon, three grandchildren, Alexa, Ella and Mia. Her passion is to serve in assisting the Sunday Worship Services and it has been very rewarding.

Alana has attended SDBC since 1999, when she started coming to the youth program. She grew up in the church and has always leant a helping hand. Alana has been a youth leader in the Preteen and Junior High Ministries, as well as interning for the Young Adult ministries. Alana has been on staff since 2008.
Sean and Lisa Bremner - Young Family Coordinators
Sean and Lisa are overseeing family ministries here at SDBC. “We believe it is important to feel connected and feel a sense of belonging to your church body. Everything good in life takes effort and our prayer is that we can all make time to connect with each other to become a community of believers that are supported, loved, serving and growing in our love for Jesus.” Sean and Lisa have three girls, Cassidy, Taya and Shanay and have lived in Ladner for the past 14 years. They are very active at SDBC as well as coaching, playing or watching sports in the community. Sean has a renovations company and Lisa works at a seniors’ residence in the recreation department.
Dawna-Lyn Broadhead - Director of First Steps Preschool
Dawna-Lyn has been attenting the church since 1995 with her husband, John and their two daughters, Brittney and Julia. She has since been director and teacher of First Steps Preschool for 11 years now. Dawna-Lyn also makes herself available to meet with people to guide and lead them through life's issues. Kathleen Beaton - Clinical Counsellor
Kathleen Beaton is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and founder of Cedar Park Counselling in South Delta, B.C. She holds a Masters degree in Counselling from ACTS seminary at Trinity Western University. She has over ten years experience in counselling individuals, youth and couples at both Cedar Park and Peace Portal Counselling Centers. She has been a resident of South Delta for twenty years, married for thirty years and has two grown daughters. Her counselling work involves the use of emotionally focused and experiential therapies. She brings to her work an enjoyment of people and a desire to help others reach their potential in life, deal with life problems and develop greater relational intimacy and life satisfaction.

Harry Harms - Head of Maintenance/Facility

Without Harry our church would fall apart. His dedication to our building is encouraging to see as he works hard in keeping up maintenance as well as leading a team of other custodians. He has been a part of the church family for many years with his wife Tammy and their children, Ashley, Josh, Nathan, and Luke.
