Special Note from New Lead Pastor Paul Park
Dear South Delta Baptist Church:
We have been in the search process for the lead pastor position at our church for over a year and a half now, and last Sunday’s congregational vote has signalled the end of that process. God has proven faithful to us as He has provided excellent leadership through Pastor Rick Burdett, the elder board, and the staff during this time. I am especially thankful to Pastor Rick for his godly leadership in this important period. Although we still have much work ahead of us, I would like to take a step back and take time to process the result of the search process.
First of all, Sarah and I would like to thank God for this opportunity to humbly stand before you as the next lead pastor of our church. It is by God’s grace that I am able to serve you in this capacity. We continue to pray that God would empower me, and all of us, through His Spirit to do His work in our community, for we cannot do anything apart from Him.
Moreover, we thank you for your support and prayers throughout the process, and we are excited to serve alongside you as we serve our great and mighty God together. God is moving in our community, and the harvest is indeed plentiful in South Delta. I look forward to seeing the Spirit move powerfully in our community to bring people to Christ. Please continue to pray for God’s harvest in our community—that South Delta would come to know the glory of our Lord and that people will respond in worship of the mighty King.
Finally, I am grateful for having you as partners in the gospel work. God has given us one another as partners in the work He has called us to do. We have the privilege of participating in the redemptive work of Christ as a family of those who believe in and follow after the name of Jesus. Blessed be the Lord who has given us this opportunity to be His people. May we continue to worship and honour this awesome God, and together, draw closer to Him each day. I look forward to partnering with you in this exciting time!
